If you have a Google account, you can edit the map yourself. Just log into your account and refresh the map, and an edit button should pop up near the title.

Log in with your Google account, and then refresh the link. Then click the "Edit" button, find your hometown, and click the button at the top left of the map that looks like an inverted teardrop, add your info, and click the "Save" button.
